Smoked Turkey - Traeger Style

I got Bill a Traeger grill for his 40th birthday. It is a pellet grill that smokes, barbecues, grills and bakes. This is an excellent recipe for very moist turkey!

Spread Traeger poultry rub (or your favorite seasoning) between skin and breast meat.

Coat the bird in olive oil.

Cover top of bird with one pound of bacon (whole slices).

Put on Traeger on medium heat until internal temperature is 170 - 180 degrees. For a 22-pound turkey, it will take approximately seven to eight hours.

After reaching optimal temperature, tent turkey in aluminum foil for 35-40 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
